To qualify as a Natural Spring Water, a water must have a Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) count of less than 500mg per litre and it needs to be bottled in the same state that it comes out of the ground - which means it can't be filtered for purity. If a water has greater than 500mg/L of Total Dissolved Solids it qualifies as Mineral Water NOT Spring Water.

Total Dissolved Solids are naturally occurring minerals including calcium, sodium, magnesium, carbonates and silica. TDS counts as natural indicators of purity - the lower the number the purer the water. And how low can we go?

Well as far as we know our TDS of 37mg/L is the lowest of any water on the market in Australia . As a note of comparison, Cadbury Schweppes Cool Ridge has 180, Coca Cola Amatil's Mount Franklin (which is filtered before bottling) has 45, Evian from France has more than 400 whilst the new " Fiji " water has a TDS of 210.

Yarra Valley Spring Water is also naturally low in sodium with only 6mg/L compared to 30mg/L in Mount Franklin. So what do all these TDS and sodium figures really mean? Simple - this is the best tasting Spring Water on the planet. There are no rough edges on your palate just pure unadulterated fresh Australian Spring Water.

What makes Yarra Valley Spring Water unique is that it goes into the bottle in exactly the same state as it comes out of the ground - untouched, non filtered. Like all good Spring Waters, it is bottled at the source to eliminate risk of contamination.
